Rituals
On the first two pictures you see the monks on a symbolic journey in memory of the annual visit to Chökorgyel traditionally made in Tibet in the past (see also album Tibet). Next the announcement of the teachings, prayers and lessons: ringing bells and blowing conch shells. The ceremony of accompanying the teacher to the throne with incense and trumpets. During prayers: the use of cymbals, the invitation of Buddha’s by the teacher, using incense; the offering of the bathhouse to the Buddha’s, the offering of the perfect universe in the shape of a rice mandala or a mudra. The preparation for the ritual of the Spirit of the Enlightenment: preparing ritual cakes, torma’s; arranging the offerings; decorating the temple and throne with garlands. Outside the temple, visitors can always make light offerings.
